Seventy Weeks and the Messiah
24 “Seventy ▼▼Or units of seven, and so throughout the ch

bweeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to ▼▼Or bring to an end
finish the wrongdoing, to ▼▼Another reading is seal up sins
make an end of sin, to emake atonement for guilt, to bring in feverlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and ▼▼Lit prophet
prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place. 25So you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a ▼▼Lit word

idecree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until ▼▼Or an anointed one

kMessiah the lPrince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with ▼▼Or city square
streets and moat, even in times of distress. 26Then after the sixty-two weeks, the ▼▼Or anointed one
Messiah will be ocut off and have ▼▼Or no one
nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will qdestroy the city and the sanctuary. And ▼▼Or his
its end will come with a sflood; even to the end ▼▼Or war will be decreed for desolations
there will be war; desolations are determined. 27And he will confirm a covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of ▼▼Or detestable things
,
vabominations will come the one who ▼▼Or causes horror
makes desolate, until a xcomplete destruction, one that is ▼▼Or determined
decreed, gushes forth on the one who ▼▼Or causes horror
makes desolate.”
